The Fort Chiswell Pioneer football program will be losing their offensive coordinator – Seth Padgett- to California. Coach Padgett has accepted a head coaching job at Santa Rosa Academy in Menifee, California. The academy just started football in 2005. Coach Padgett said,” It’s a golden opportunity for me. The principal there is a colleague of mine. We played football at Union College together and we have always kept in touch and he invited me to fly out and check things out.” Coach then added,” I am truly going to miss the players, coaches and friends here. I feel like it’s an opportunity that I couldn’t turn down and to run my own football program.”
Head coach Todd Tiller of the Fort Chiswell Pioneers remarked, ” I’m happy for Seth and I’m sad also. When he came to me about this I told him to go check it out and see what he thought. I hate losing him and we will have to find some one to replace his position on the staff here.”
Coach Padgett informed the team this morning ( Friday) of the decision to leave.
